A little about me!
LIZ ARANDA , 25, is a Mexican American light lyric/coloratura soprano. Liz is recently graduated with her Master of Music in Soprano Performance at The Cleveland Institute of Music studying under Dr. Mary Schiller. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Northern Arizona University in 2021. She grew up in Prescott, Arizona where she has been performing since she was six years old. She officially began studying music at the age of ten. She participated in competitions, musicals, dance recitals and workshops during her time there. She made her college debut as a Spirit in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and Emmie in Britten's Albert Herring the following year. In the Fall of 2019, Liz performed with the Verde Valley Sinfonietta in Sedona, Arizona as the soprano soloist in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and Missa Solemnis Op. 123: Kyrie. She also received third place in the 11 - Upper Classical Treble Division at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Arizona District in the Fall of 2019. Liz was cast in the roles of Nella in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica simultaneously in the Spring of 2020 at NAU, but was unable to perform due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. She received the Lloyd and Sally Hanson Singer/Actor Award of Excellence Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year. In her Senior year, she performed the role of Sandrina in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera. She was fortunate enough to perform in every opera production during her undergraduate studies. During her Masters degree at CIM she performed roles such as: La Fee in Massenet's Cendrillon, Constance in Puccini's Dialogues des Carmelites and Adele in Strauss's Die Fledermaus. She recently traveled to Salzburg, Austria to participate in the Patti and Allan Herbert Frost School of Music Program. Where she was coached, performed and was inspired by the Salzburg Festspiele. She plans to pursue a performance career in Opera, Operetta and Musical Theater.
She is excited to see what her future holds as an aspiring singer.
